Ways you can help prevent hot car accidents:
- Most importantly, use the strategies and talk about this with your loved ones. It is important to share our story and unfortunately so many other stories similar to ours to help everyone see how real this is and how it can happen to anyone. After losing Weston, so many people told us about their close calls. It is important to share those, too, to help others realize that they need to use the strategies to keep their children safe.
- Email westonswish@hotmail.com to request business cards with our organization’s information to give to families with young children at your place of work.
- Request that your daycare provider call families if they do not arrive within 5-10 minutes of their expected time.
- Put up posters at your place of work to serve as visual reminders for yourself and coworkers.
- Explore available technology that may work for you and your loved ones.
- Write your representative and/or senator when legislation regarding hot car accidents is being discussed.
- When walking through a parking lot, take a look into vehicles to ensure there is not a child left inside.
